Santa Clarita Photographic Studio’s fine-art photography is widely recognized for its creativity and technical excellence. The studio’s portfolio contains numerous striking examples.
The studio’s owner Yoti Telio created the portrait, and after showing it to a few influential people around Santa Clarita, received a call from the LACFD.
“They said they wanted to use the image to help promote the department’s safe-haven program for newborns, where any fire station will take in an abandoned baby, no questions asked,” Yoti says. “The power of photography can be phenomenal, and to know that an image I created as a personal project could now possibly help save human lives is incredible,” he adds. “Nobody can ever put a price on that.” While the use of black and white in the creation of portraiture is very artistic I seldom discount the power of COLOR in any of my compositions. In 2003 I was inspired by an American Indian passage found in a wonderful book by Jamie Sams called Earth Medicine Below you will find the passage that inspired a lifelong photo project: “Every kind of flower carries a different shape and a different color. Every flower knows it is unique as well as beautiful. The lesson that the flowers show their human Sisters and Brothers is one of love without comparison.
