Bucking the TrendsWedding photography has suffered through several stylistic trends over the last couple of decades. First there was a formalistic period, then fly-on-the-wall documentary reportáge, Hollywood inspired digital post-processing techniques, and more recently, an emphasis on high-fashion and lifestyle looks. Digital technologies have offered photographers seemingly unlimited opportunity to explore the boundaries of creativity – but too often the technology gets in the way of the art of creating great images. Henri Cartier-Bresson said it best: "Photography has not changed since its origin except in its technical aspects, which for me are not a major concern." In the early 20th Century, photography was thought of as an artificial form of art. Photography was considered to be a medium of art that captured something seen as a form of conquest, rather than an instrument of artistic creation. The digital age has unfortunately perpetuated this ethos, and also changed the perception of photography as an art form, some would argue, including myself, to the detriment of how we now view the masters of the medium -- photographers such as Bresson. The digital age has also ushered in a period where photographers no longer think about "the image", rather they think about not missing "the shot". Thus, modern professional photographers become consumed with quantity over quality, with the hope that somehow a quality image might be found, after the fact, during post-production. And if that doesn't work, they apply the current trendy computer enhancement to their work and call it a photograph. Many professional photographers, especially wedding photographers, work this way now.
The ApproachYoti's wedding photography style is best described as quiet and unobtrusive. Yoti prefers to document a wedding as it unfolds naturally, capturing the moment in natural light, without any prompting or interference from the photographer. While both traditional film and current digital technologies are employed in concert to document a wedding, technology is never allowed to interfere with the respect for the subject that is required to create a great photograph. The goal is always the simple elegance of a photograph that captures the beauty in form, geometry, and emotion of a particular moment in time. Just imagine, beautiful wedding photographs that capture what really happened at your wedding, instead of what the photographer made happen. What he forced posed. Instead we offer a refreshing new approach to wedding photography. The images have a natural, spontaneous and artistic impression. Our documentary or journalistic style departs from the old way of stiff posed photographs and in an exciting way captures the occasion. The images are multi dimensional. We not only record special family relationships but also the little touches that make your wedding totally unique. "I want to document the events of the day, not force them. Wedding Photography should not be stale and automatic, but real and natural, just like it happens!" We combine two different wedding styles, Traditional Coverage and Photojournalistic Coverage, and still keep everything natural. The Traditional Style includes all of the wedding images you have come to expect in a traditional wedding album, including portraits of the Bride and Groom, attendants, family as well as the traditional happenings at your wedding. The Photojournalistic style is a more storytelling style of wedding. Unlike most photographers, we have a combination of the two styles. The biggest and most emotion-filled event in your life to date shouldn't be summed up in 6 or 8 hour increments. A story of memories that will last a lifetime needs time to be captured and told. Our business is set up so we can stay as long as you're there to make sure every moment of your day is captured, all the way to the end. We usually start 3 to 4 hours before the ceremony and are there until you leave. After the flowers have wilted, the food has been eaten, the music has stopped and the guests have left town, you will only have your beautiful photos on which to look back and remember every moment of the entire day. We are here to provide you with the very best images, capturing those precious moments in a timeless and artistic way so that every time you look back through your album, the memories will come alive and you will remember the day as though it was yesterday.Below is the most popular coverage option.
